If you follow us at all on Facebook you know that we are all about GLAMPING right now!! Maybe you have questions about glamping (what the heck is it anyway?) or are curious what we have to offer as a glamping establishment - this blog should answer all of those questions! If it doesn't, please feel free to ask us - we love questions and new ideas to help improve our facility to make it a prime wedding venue!

What is GLAMPING?
What is this Glamping thing we speak of? Simply put it is GLAMorous camPING!! You are in nature enjoying all of the benefits of camping - nature, crisp clean air, birds chirping - but you get the luxury of a nice hotel room - fluffy pillows, pillow top mattresses, and HOT SHOWERS, plus breakfast delivered to your tent door!

What does a Glamping Tent Look Like?
Our Glamping Tents are canvas tents featuring rustic and vintage decorations.  All tents have a hardwood floor and an eight foot deck with lounge chairs for you to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets from. All of the tents feature a luxurious bed, nightstand, mirror, fun decorations and FLUFFY towels to use at the shower house.  We will SOON have pictures of all of our completed and decorated tents so you can decide which tent is the best fit for your perfect weekend!

SHOWER HOUSE!!
Yes you saw that right, there is a SHOWER HOUSE! Our Glamping shower house is a large tent with 4 individual rooms with separate entrances that allow our campers to take a private shower.  All of the showers have HOT water and you will find using them to be similar to taking a shower at home.  Each room has a dressing area to keep your personal items dry while you shower.  Our shower house is about a 10 minute walk from the tents - or a 2 minute drive. Towels are provided at your tent for use in the shower houses, so no need to pack your own!

Amenities?
Besides fluffy towels and warm showers what do our tents have to offer you?  We have a number of amenities for our glamping guests.  Indoor plumbing can be found 440 yards from your tent in the Y Knot Barn & Event Center.  We bring a continental breakfast of baked goods, fruit and juice to your tent door at 7:00 (ish) am.  We offer natural settings and a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of busy life.  Our tents do not have any electricity to them - so leave that smart phone in your bag and commune with nature :) for the non nature enthusiast there are outlets in the barn and shower house to get a little battery boost!  Fresh drinking water is provided daily.

Y Knot Glamping Tents
Y Knot Glamping has 5 tents that are available to rent - as we are a wedding venue first - and we want to accommodate to our wedding guests - glampings is only available to guests on wedding weekends.  However during the week and on weekends without a booked wedding, glamping tents can be rented! We have a selection of tents to choose from. Hollowtop - our honeymoon suite -featuring a king bed is set apart from the other tents to offer utmost privacy.  Potosi Peak and Granite Peak both offer two queen beds - perfect for friends that want to stay together! Mount Jefferson and Horse Mountain feature one queen bed and is a great option for guests who prefer not to share their room with others.  We encourage families to glamp as we feel it is an unforgettable experience, which is why we allow kids to bring sleeping bags and sleep on the floor in the tents - that means that you can sleep more than 4 in a tent if you have a larger family!

House Keeping Details
Our check in time is 2 p.m. and our checkout time is 11 a.m. If you need different times please inquire we try our best to fully accommodate each guest to the best of our abilities.  You must check in at the 135 Johnson Road (the house by the barn) by 9:00 p.m. before making your way to your tent, unless other arrangements have been made
We ask that all glampers remember that you are CAMPING! There is wildlife in the pastures and on the paths between the tents and barn and the tents and shower houses, please be respectful of the animals and DO NOT disturb them!

Montana Bridal Affair

3/10/2015

We were so blessed to attend the Montana Bridal Affair in Bozeman this past weekend! It was our first big event as a vendor, and it was a major success.  Never having attended a show like this before we were not quite sure what to do.  Thanks to pinterest and a little creativity we had a fun booth to showcase the Y Knot to all of the lovely brides that stopped by!

Picture

It was so much fun to introduce brides to the Y Knot, as we are an up and coming facility, it was great to hear the enthusiasm of all of the people who love Pony.  As many of our followers know we gave away a free Canty Boot MT rental to one lucky bride!  Canty Boots are the original up cycled cowboy boot made locally in Harrison, Montana. These boots are a fashion MUST HAVE, and we are excited to be partnered with them (a Blog Post dedicated to Canty Boots Coming SOON!)

We were fortunate to meet a number of great vendors!  We are very excited to work with these vendors at upcoming Y Knot Barn events! South West Montana is blessed with many people who work hard to ensure that couples can have the wedding day they dreamed of! A huge thanks to everyone who made our first bridal fair a great success! It was wonderful to meet everyone! We look forward to next year!

Save the Date

2/25/2015

We know lots of couples that are getting married this year, and some that are planning on 2016 weddings! We thought we would do a fun Save-The-Date blog post that shares tips and proper procedures along with some fun Save-The-Date pictures that we found! We hope you enjoy, and find this blog useful!
So what are the top tips that we have to share with you?
* If your wedding is on a holiday, a destination wedding or if most of your guests will have to travel. Save-The-Dates should be sent out 1 year before your date
*If you send someone a Save-The-Date they need to also get a formal wedding invitation
*If you don't have a destination wedding, and it isn't over a holiday Save-The-Dates can be sent out anywhere from 10 weeks to 7 months before your big day.
*Don't over share on your Save-The-Date, a simple "formal invitation to follow" takes        care of the additional details.
*If you send out Save-The-Dates and some of them are returned to you for incorrect
addresses, you have time to find the correct address! If you get returned wedding
invitations it is often too late to track down the correct addresses and resend the
     invitation.

So - After pillaging pinterest - We want to share just a few of our favorite Save-The-Dates! The MOST important tip that we found was:
*MAKE IT PERSONAL!!

Why we LOVE Pony, Montana

“I’m in love with Montana. For other states I have admiration, respect, recognition, even some affection. But with Montana it is love. And it’s difficult to analyze love when you’re in it.”
 John Steinbeck

Oh Pony, how we love thee, let us count the ways! We are so very thankful to live in Pony, Montana. While there might only be 200 residents, our tiny town has a lot to offer.  This post only features a few nature aspects of why Pony is awesome.  In future posts we will highlight other themes such as photo ops and things to do.  Here are a few things that make us love Pony, and why we think it is the best spot for any type of celebration!

PictureSpring Flowers and Hollowtop Photo by: Carrol Young
1.) THE VIEWS! The spring time flowers and fresh green grass is pristine and beautiful, perfect for photos and just plain great to look at.  The Summer months are just as breathtaking, with a number of lakes and streams near-by to enjoy nature while out and about. Then there is Fall!! Lets talk about fall for a minute! The colors are a perfect mix of red, orange and yellow! When the leaves change in town and you're on the dirt road, you seriously feel like you are in a scene from a book! Nothing beats the views in and around small town Pony, Montana. Even the winters are gorgeous!

You might recognize this as one of our top "Pony Photo Ops" from our photo gallery. The Old Stamp Mill, here the leaves are just starting to change as the temperatures cool off and fall approaches. Photo Credit: Carrol Young - A Pony, Montana Native.

2.) THE SUNSETS!! We have not shared may pictures of sunsets with you on our Facebook page, and as of right now we aren't quite sure why, because they are breath taking, as most Montana Sunsets are! The light reflecting off of the snowy mountains are the most vivid colors! Any couple would be excited to have a wedding photo with a Montana Sunset, but if you happen to have one with a Pony, Montana Sunset you are LUCKY!

Not completely sold on how amazing our sunsets are? Here is a look at a Bride and Groom who happened to catch a photo with a late night sunset shots on their big day in Pony.

3.) ANIMALS!! While we admit that this is not a MUST have in a wedding venue, it is a must have for a small town!! Anywhere you look there are animals, some domestic and some wild!! We always feel blessed to walk out of our front door and see deer grazing in the field nearby, or a herd of cattle being driven past our house to head out for summer pasture.  The variety of animals remind you of how secluded and intimate the town of Pony really is!

Spring Time Flowers and Trees

Picture
It is almost that time of year again to start thinking about planting flowers (while this may not happen until late May--- Yea for Montana Springs), we put a  lot of planning into  getting our grounds ready for all of the Y Knot Barn Weddings.  We plant flowers around the barn and a number of potted plants that can be used at the bride's discretion.  What flower colors do you think we should plant this year?

Picture
We will also be planting a number of pine trees on the property this spring, currently we are planning on planting them in the Northwest corner of the 3 acres. Morning Glory and Virginia Creeper will be planted along the East fence along with the sunflowers that we had last year.

The Back 80

At the back of the ranch is little nook nestled between two small creeks that we will be landscaping to make into an intimate ceremony location.  As we begin working on this area, we will keep you updated. We are VERY excited to offer this little piece of heaven to our venue for our future guests!

A huge hello and thank you to everyone who already follows us via Facebook! Another hello to all of our new followers...

Picture
The Y Knot Barn was established in 2014 on the Young Family Ranch in Pony, MT.  Chark and Connie Young built the 3000 square foot barn with the help of family and friends! The Y Knot Barn is your go to country rustic event venue, while originally built for weddings, there is no event too small to have at the Y Knot Barn.  They have hosted going away parties, graduation parties and old fashion barn dances. Anniversary parties, company picnics and any other fun events are welcome to rent the facility.

We have decided to add a blog page to our business so that we can share the fun stories from the events, neat venue decorating ideas, pass on wedding tips and ideas that we have discovered.  We are very excited to share these with you!

We hope you enjoy checking out our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/yknotbarn), follow updates on our webpage, and enjoy our future posts.
